A claim that the COVID19 vaccines alter people’s DNAs has surfaced on social media.

In a Facebook post it is claimed that, “All of those considering taking the vaccine you recognize that this permanently and irreversibly changes your DNA”.

According to Dr. Eric Orokyo  at Sanyu Medical services, the claim is false. He said that MRNA never enters the nucleus of the cell which is where our DNA is kept as alleged by many posts on social media. The cell breaks down and gets rid of the MRNA immediately.

Dr. Orokyo further said that MRNA vaccines are a new type of vaccines to protect against infectious diseases. They teach our cells how to make protein that the immune system can respond to without causing serious consequences of one getting infected with COVID19.
